About Us

Mathis Realty was founded by Fred Mathis in 1961 and it stands today where it has stood for 55 years in North Augusta S.C. firmly grounded in the community.

In the past 55 years North Augusta has seen substantial growth and Mathis Realty has been a major realtor for the development. We deal with land, residential and investment properties considered difficult to come by. Here are just a few of the sales that are considered "impact sales," these properties have affected the growth and economy of North Augusta, S.C.

In 1969 Mathis sold the Butler tract of 1,000 acres (US 25 to Five Notch Rd. along Frontage Rd. to the north of Walnut Lane) which included Windtree, Walnut Grove, and now has about 700-800 homes all now within city limits. The Butler family had owned this tract for 150 years.

In 1970 Mathis sold the Croft tract of 1,600 acres from the Savannah River, and all the way to BSS (Building Supply). This includes Rivernorth subdivison, Taylor Toyota and the North Augusta Industrial Park. Before this sell, The Croft family had the land for 98 years.

We sold the Wash tract on Sweetwater Rd. (440 acres). The tract was developed into what is now the Mount Vintage Horse Barn and Clubhouse (essential parts of the entire project). The Wash tract was in family for several generations.

We' recently sold a 10,864 acre tract in Aiken S.C. for International Paper which is now the home of Cedar Creek Golf Course. When developed, we expect around 1,000 homes.

Mathis Realty also is responsible for selling the tract to Lakes and Streams, which is acclaimed as one of the highest rated neighborhoods.

Our clientele have come to rely on our knowledge of the North Augusta market and our deep roots within the community. These connections always get us the leads on the best deals for properties. If you are trying to buy or sell a property, we are forthright about presenting facts dealing with property, not necessary what you want to hear. This has been necessary for honesty to be our best policy. Our plan for continued growth is to keep our realty a personal experience of dealing with honest agents.
